Unwrap These Healthy Gift Ideas this Christmas!
Christmas shopping; regardless of whether you love it or hate it, finding the perfect gift for someone can be a tall order.
Did you know a Gumtree Classifieds website survey reported over 14 million unwanted Christmas gifts from 2012? That’s a lot of unwanted presents.
Why not take matters into your own hands, and leave our list of healthy gift ideas lying around? Your friends and family will know just what to get you and you’ll stay focused on achieving good health in 2014.
Here are our top 10 healthy gift ideas for Christmas 2013:
- Arrange a gourmet fruit hamper filled with a colourful selection of seasonal fruits available at Christmas time! Think mangos, berries and stone fruit. Delicious!
- Fruit Trays - Many organisations arrange mango drives for school or kindergarten fundraisers. Why not wrap a ribbon around a tray for the perfect gift idea?
- Gym junkies - If you enjoy exercising in a gym, ask for a gym membership or gym gift voucher to help kick start your fitness routine in 2014.
- If gyms don’t push your buttons, hint for a new exercise bike or treadmill machine to use at home. Having exercise equipment at home means you’re more likely to work out on rainy or cold days.
- Do you need sports gear? Basketball, tennis racket, hand weights, bike - the list is endless. Think about your favourite sport and check if you have the necessary equipment to do it! Even a new pair of sandshoes or exercise clothes would be a fantastic gift idea.
- Not sure what you want? Ask for a voucher to a sporting store so you can browse the post-Christmas sales and nab a bargain at the same time.
- We love the new technology helping to develop pedometers into devices we just can’t live without. If you need a new one, direct your friends and family into the clinic to grab a new FitBit.
- While you’re at the clinic, another great device to help monitor your activity is a heart rate monitor. (Don’t forget to enter our 2013 Christmas competition and you could win your own heart rate monitor! See below for details)
- If you need some extra motivation or help with your regular workout routine why not purchase some personal training sessions with an Exercise Physiologist?
- We all know how critical the maintenance period of weight loss is. If you’re coming to the end of your LifeShape program, why not ask for some follow on appointments to keep you on track in 2014?
