Makes 6 serves
Ingredients:
Patty
- 600g lean mince meat (choose from beef, lamb, chicken or veal, whatever you fancy!)
- 1-2 cloves of garlic to taste
- 3 medium carrots grated (approximately 1 cup)
- 3 medium zucchini grated (approximately 1 cup)
- 1-2 medium onions finely diced (approximately 1 cup)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh continental parsley (or other desired herbs)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, made from day old bread
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
Yoghurt Sauce
- 100g Low fat natural yoghurt
- ½ teaspoon English mustard
- A squeeze of lemon juice

- Choose from a selection of preferred salad ingredients (iceberg lettuce, spinach or rocket, capsicum, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, mushrooms, snow peas, beetroot) whatever your taste buds desire! Aim for making up 6-8 cups of mixed salad ingredients to enable a serve of approximately 2 cups per serve
- 6 Mountain bread ‘rye’ wraps
Method
- Combine the mince with the garlic, carrots, zucchini, onions, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley and seasoning and mix together well with clean hands.
- Once mixed together, shape into burgers, either small or large depending on your preference and bun size.
- To make ‘Yoghurt sauce” combine the three ingredients (yoghurt, mustard and lemon juice together well and place into a serving bowl).
- Pre heat the BBQ or your pan to a moderate heat.
- Lightly brush the burgers with olive oil.
- When moderate temperature is reached add the burgers and cook for approximately 6-8 minutes on each side (depending on size and thickness) or until they are cooked through.
- Transfer the burgers to a plate, set aside and keep warm.
- Wash and prepare salad ingredients and place into a large bowl and mix well together.
- To serve, lay out wraps and place mince patties in the middle of the wrap, top with mixed salad, and drizzle with yoghurt sauce. Roll up wrap. Serve any additional salad on the side.
