- 250ml (1 cup) water
- 55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar or sugar substitute
- 5 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 800g cherries (stems still attached)
- 2 x 200g containers diet vanilla yoghurt
Method
- Combine the water, sugar, cloves and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan.
- Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Remove from heat.
- Place the cherries in a shallow heatproof bowl and pour the hot spiced sryup over them.
- Set aside for 1 hour.
- Serve at room temperature or chilled with the vanilla yoghurt. Use the stems to dip the cherries.
