Here's What We Really Have for Lunch in the LifeShape Office

A healthy lunch provides you with the nutrients needed for energy and concentration to get through the remainder of the day. So, do LifeShape Clinic staff really practise what we preach? Check out some of these fun and delicious lunches we snapped around the office. You never know, they might inspire some new lunch ideas in your workplace.

Jess - Client Services & Research Assistant

"I love utilising leftovers - quick, easy and they usually say food is tastier the next day! I typically put extra salad leaves or heaps of veggies with my leftovers to help fill me up and keep me going for longer. The photo features leftover pizza - I like to make my own bases using blended black beans, topped with lots of veggies, cheese and herbs. As also seen in the photo, I enjoy making the most of beautiful weather and eating my lunch outside. The fresh air and sunshine helps me to feel recharged for the afternoon."

Simone - Dietitian

"These are my meal prepped Mexi Bowls I made on Sunday evening. I make some vege loaded lean mince with taco seasoning, then add a stack of fresh salad like lettuce, tomato, capsicum, corn, carrot, cucumber and shallots. Plus a sprinkle of cheese."

Dan - Exercise Physiologist Coordinator

For a quick and easy lunch between clients, Dan loves a wholesome wrap. The most common fillings include a tin of flavoured tuna, spinach and cottage cheese, plus whatever extra salad vege he has in the fridge that day.

Sophie - Dietitian

"These are my leftovers from last night - lentil and veggie dahl topped with roasted peanuts and coriander. With a mandarin and water of course!"

Anna - Client Services Team Leader

"In this delicious sandwich I threw together I have lightly toasted Turkish bread, hummus, halloumi, sliced chicken with rosemary, spinach leaves, cucumber, and I also added some cherry tomatoes from the work fruit bowl!"

Stacey - Client Services

Stacey forgot her lunch this particular day. However we're lucky to have an array of foodtrucks stop by once per week for the Milton Mini Market. In this amazing looking lunch from Happy Soul Bowl, Stacey chose some grilled chicken with
salad and herbs.

Tegan - Marketing & Communications Coordinator

"I'm a big fan of reinventing leftovers from the night before because it's quick and easy. This is a super simple but delicious cauliflower soup using cannellini beans to make it creamy. After boiling some cauliflower with onion, carrot and stock, simply blend with the beans and voila! Here it's topped with some plain Chobani
and a toasted piece of flatbread for textural crunch."

How to Eat Healthy at Work

Surrounding yourself with healthy choices is one of the best tips to get you on your way to success. Take a few minutes the night before to pack yourself a healthy lunch to avoid that midday trip to the local canteen.

The best options for lunch should have a solid vegetable or salad base. Salad and lean protein/low fat cheese wraps and grainy sandwiches are a great option. If you forget your lunch, there’s no need to head to the vending machine! Duck into your local grocery store and pick up a tin of tuna, soup or prepared garden salad with lean ham or chicken if you forget your lunch. Subway salads and six inch subs (skip the cheese and high fat sauces) and the McDonalds seared chicken snack wrap are other healthier choices when you are really time-poor.
