After successfully completing LifeShape programs back in 2016, Ruth and her husband had lots of life changes which led to their health and weight management getting a little off track in the following years.
“Not long after our 12 month programs, we got sideswiped with the reality of life,” says Ruth. “A very busy lifestyle, three parents became quite unwell and the enduring process that surrounds that for a few years after that. Everything we learned got put aside and everything else became a priority leading to a poor diet. My health, both emotional and physical were affected, anxiety, depression, and feeling frumpy. I started noticing changes I was not happy with, feeling totally exhausted after a busy day, longer recovery, and most of all, being nagged by my doctor that my blood pressure was getting high.”
It was about this time Ruth realised she needed to make a change.
“I needed to make a change, but I knew I needed to be accountable to someone, to get that motivation back,” says Ruth. “I did some research and saw the LifeShape Online Program and thought – this is what I need! I met with a Dietitian and discussed the other programs but the three month online program was just right for me. I was able to watch the videos in my own time – short, succinct, to the point. But best of all, the resources are there that I can keep reviewing and returning to.”
Thanks to her three month online program, Ruth is seeing many changes she’s proud of.
“Seeing the results are great!” says Ruth. “I’m 10kgs^ down and moving in the right direction. I am feeling somewhat confident that I can continue doing this on my own, after all I have great support from my LifeShape Clinicians via telehealth. I have dropped a dress size and I’m seeing some positive changes in my physical and mental health. I am also looking to the future and, I don’t want to go back to old habits, I have learnt a lot about myself between the programs and my world is very different to that of 5 years ago.”
Ruth has this advice for anyone considering the LifeShape Online Program.
“To do the online program and like any change, you need to be onboard and ready to embrace changes,” says Ruth. “I feel you need to have it in your head that this is my change, and my time. This is a good program, you need to give it your all.”
