163x260163x260-2Over the last few years, Jenny tried various types of 'diets'  in an attempt to tackle her weight creep.

“I had dabbled with other diets such as Weight Watchers in the past. Nothing like that seemed to work long term. I found myself simply accommodating my weight gain by buying bigger clothes.”

With a history of heart disease in the family, Jenny began to worry about her health.

“After seeing my doctor, I was told my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were not only high, but very erratic. I love travel and social occasions– I didn’t want to get to the point where I would have to give that up. I was told to concentrate on losing weight and exercise.”

Jenny was ready to take the first step. After speaking to a co-worker who had always spoken highly of Wesley LifeShape Clinic, she decided to get started and make a change for good.

“When I came in for an Initial Assessment, I was confident I was committed, but I'll admit I wasn’t 100% sure what the program entailed. My dietitian Brendan cleared all the uncertainties I had, and explained the program structure very well. I quickly realised this was not going to just change my habits for the next three months, but change them permanently - and for better.”

Jenny saw results almost instantly on her LifeShape 3 program, which gave her the confidence and motivation to stick to her weekly goals.

“Losing weight each week from week 1 really enforced that I was on the right track. I also didn’t feel like I was sacrificing anything which made it easy to stick to my meal plan.”

230x380As someone who always plans ahead, Jenny was prepared for any obstacles and received a lot of support from family and friends.

“Before going out for a meal, I would go online and check the menu options using the strategies my dietitian had taught me. My friends were also very helpful. They put no pressure on me - they respected what I was trying to achieve which made things a lot easier.”

Jenny was not always a fan of exercise - but she has made good use of her FitBit device, and has found walking has become a pleasant experience.

“I loved being able to keep track – count steps, check my heart rate. I started out only doing 20-30 minute sessions, now I am up to 60 minutes regularly.”

With her newfound health and confidence, Jenny is ready to enjoy life again with some adventurous travel plans coming up in a couple of months.

“I am ready to enjoy some time away with my friends. First stop Japan, then off to England. Since my weight loss, I’m sleeping better and have so much more energy – I am looking forward to it!”

Jenny’s dedication achieved some amazing results, which she aims to continue on her Support Program.
